Note that proper methods for abandoning an item includes anything that causes an area to unload and reload dying, homeward, dark sign, or even traveling far enough away and returning. All Vagrants initially spawn as their white, non-phantom versions.
Once they are passed to their 20th recipient, they become Black Phantoms. Players cannot directly spawn Vagrants for themselves, though it is possible for someone to have their Drift Item Bag or Vagrant return to them after someone else retrieves and then abandons them.
Anyone wishing to see a Vagrant in their world can improve their chances by continually seeding other players' worlds with Vagrants, to increase the likelihood of having one come back. Drift Item Bags and Vagrants do not spawn spontaneously. They are initially received in an "incoming" queue, and will spawn immediately after the next time the player reloads that area e. Killing a Vagrant or picking up a Drift Item Bag will initiate a timer that may freeze anything entering the queue afterwards, impeding their reception or delivery.
The timer takes 80 minutes to clear. Though Drift Item Bags appear in the exact spot that other players drop them, both types of Vagrants have fixed spawn locations. Similar to how invader spawn locations work, Vagrants will wind up at the nearest corresponding location. Photo album showing all Vagrant locations. Create account or Sign in. Join the Site! If a Vagrant is not killed by a player, it will be sent out again to another player's world. This will continue until the Vagrant is finally slain. If the Vagrant is sent out enough times, it will eventually upgrade into a more powerful black phantom version that drops more valuable loot when killed. Good Vagrants have an initial phase known as Drift Items, which are item bags that appear exactly where the original item was left except the item within is significantly downgraded and often nearly useless.
The Drift Item will continue to be sent out to other worlds if it isn't picked up, and after a while will eventually become a Good Vagrant. As a Good Vagrant, the item inside is more valuable and becomes even more so if it can manage to survive and travel to other worlds until it becomes a black phantom Good Vagrant.
Vagrants spawn at specific locations within the zone where their generator died. Below lists the possible spawns. I've only seen 4 of these in my entire time playing. One evil and one good in the undead parish, one was sniping me in darkroot garden on the ledge next to the wolf ring, and the final one was an evil red vagrant by the sunlight altar. For the longest time I had no idea what these things were.
So it seems that because these things can drop stuff like Egg Vermifuge, Transient Curses and all 3 types of coins, the wiki also lists all those items as loot for every single location that Vagrants can spawn in. I think that's not really necessary, Vagrants are so rare that you won't see many of them anyways and it just bloats up the found items section for all those locations, making it harder to check for stuff one might have missed.
I found a white evil vagrant on the undead asylum in the zone where you plunge attack the asylum demon. Just saw one for the first time and started googling "ds1 crab.. I also found a white one in Firelink maybe 2 hours in. I thought they were a fairly common occurrence but after reading comments here I see that they are not.
States used vagrancy laws to arrest, prosecute, and harass homeless people and poor people who were suspected of criminal activity or who were considered undesirable.
Most criminal statutes prohibit certain acts, such as taking something that does not belong to you or having sex for money; or failures to act, such as failing to provide a safe home for your children.
While vagrancy laws sometimes prohibited specific acts, such as loitering although this term can be problematic, as explained below , sleeping outside, panhandling, fortune telling, gambling, or prostitution, they also prohibited being a certain type of person without regard to what that person might be doing or not doing.
Vagrancy laws criminalized being:. Under vagrancy laws, it was a crime to be any of these things, even if the person was not otherwise doing anything illegal. Laws that prohibit being something, rather than doing something, are called status crimes. As explained below, many courts have decided that status crimes, including some vagrancy laws, are problematic and hence unenforceable. All laws must be constitutional. This simply means that no law can violate any of the provisions in the United States Constitution.
Many vagrancy laws have been struck down because they violated the constitution's prohibition against cruel and unusual punishment or were vague. Laws cannot impose punishment that is cruel and unusual.
Many courts have decided that status crimes violate the prohibition against cruel and unusual punishment because the defendant is punished for unfortunate circumstances beyond his or her control.
Robinson v. California , U. Vagabond especially emphasizes the idea of worthless living, often by trickery, thieving, or other disreputable means: Actors were once classed with rogues and vagabonds.
