One mansion will be closing to the public, while another will reopen for the first time in nearly a year. Marble House has been closed since March 15, , when all The Preservation Society of Newport County properties were closed due to the coronavirus pandemic. It will reopen March 1, and will be the only property open to the public until April That is the purpose behind our preservation efforts.
The Breakers, which has been open to the public for several months, will close until May 28, the Friday before Memorial Day. Depending on the state of the pandemic, other houses may reopen to the public over the summer.
The Preservation Society will again offer the "stroll the gardens and grounds" package, which allows visitors access to all outdoor properties and grounds, including picnicking on the lawn.
